A rather lengthy video of a bee, shot with a 100mm/f2 lens on manual focus. Just testing the dSLR video workflow. I first converted the video to 2.5x slomo by remapping the framerate from 60fps to 24fps. Then used deshaker to stabalize the footage, and finally applied some level tweaking.

  • That's sweet, Mike! You must have held your breath during this shot. I was hoping to spot some DeShaker errors but found none (with my eye), really impressive. I should get one of those 100mm F2.0 lenses too! Yay. Nice, Mike. ;)

  • @rey123sss You can see a deshaker doing something really strange (a zoom?!) at 1:11.

  • such a powerfull camera! Nice Job in post production.

  • @snake07128 Yeah, for the fully-postprocessed segment, skip to 0:50

  • Did you use the DeShaker plugin for VirtualDub? Those are some great software results! Beautiful shot as well. :)

  • @AniCator Yup. I used deshaker to remove the camera shake.

  • Have you tried the GSoC Blender branch for stabilization (if I'm not mistaken is the tomato one)?

  • some music while we gorge ourselves with 720p footage please. :)

  • Great shots. Are you using an open source workflow? I didn't spot AE or FCP mentioned in the comments, and I'd love to know a bit more about it if you were. I want to get around to buying a proper DSLR at somepoint and doing some video, but having to fork out for a whole bunch of editing software (and possibly a non-free OS) to run it on rather puts me off.

  • Great work !!! : )

To get these shots you would have to 'bee' quite patient ;D
