This is an interesting idea for a fan.
When I was a kid i actually thought of something like this...to bad I didn't get a patent for it, I'd be rich!

Punkah is the hindi word for "fan". The original idea is ancient - and became almost extinct at the beginning of the 20th century, when the cheap to produce electric rotating fans came up.
