If the Halo movie happens. I think it should be like this. A documentary type film interlaced with the narrative from the actual war. I think it would be good that way.

Movie to be released Summer 2012.

there will 3 three movies in total, the first (and perhaps all 3) being directed by Steven Spielberg & some other not-so-famous directors.
