This video was taken in November 2006 at St Andrews Bay in South Georgia. It was estimated that there were a quarter of a million penguins just on this beach alone, and they were accompanied by thousands of fur seals and elephant seals, as well as other seabirds such as petrels. The music is Terre by Florent Pagny.

  • So many thanks for sharing!

  • I spent 6 months on the island in 1992. I was a Royal Engineer(ARMY)Electrician. There were 8 RE'S and about 30 - 35 infantry. It was a unique experience. People have to pay a small fortune to visit South Georgia. So I consider myself to be extremely lucky to have stayed there for free.
