This footage of Berlin in ruins at the end of the war was shot from an aircraft as it flew a few hundred feet above the city.

The scene starts just west of the Brandenburg Gate, moving eastwards above the Unter den Linden, across the Spree River and ends shortly after passing over the burnt out shell of the cross shaped, Parish Church.

Every building as far as the eye can see is a burnt out shell.

  • For redgoblinus how Adolf Hitler and the 3rd Reich won WW2 by staging they lost. Hate to shock you all but flying saucers were the key as well as superior submarines. Make sure you spend a week studying the comments for data: /watch?v=pXZH9DTPSFk

  • @Zahn Rabble rousing??!! Had Adolf Hitler's men successfully invaded Great Britain and then defeated the USSR then the USA would have been next on the menu. I'm just wondering why you think that the likes of the British Channel Islands represented land stolen from Germany. The Channel Islands have never been German and those islands were occupied by Hitler's men who then proceeded to install slave worker camps and concentration camps. That was the fate that awaited the USA had they not fought.

  • @RedGoblinus You must be a federal agent doing rabble rousing, not only are you full of shit but for the length of time you've been online you should at least have one video uploaded. There was no wrong doing by Adolf Hitler and 73 Communist Jews that controlled the USA through using Roosevelt as an effrontist tricked the Americans into war which didn't concern USA. Hitler took land back that was stolen from Germany by allied nations of WW1. wais.stanford.edu/Individuals/wasfranklinroosevelt.htm

  • I love history, but I can't stop thinking about what happened with Berlin. Its avenues, streets historic buildings in a historic city. What we have done with Berlin, the monastery of "Saint Francisco de Assis" in Italy...My God..

  • @RedGoblinus I have never denied the necessity of conquering Nazi Germany but highlited there is absolutly no fame in 4 leading countrys beating Germany. But anyway it does not matter, your glorious pilots who shot Farmers and other civils as they were on the way to bomb any old town "disenthralled" us Germans from a dictatorship and now we are living in a world where the American President and most of europe begs our Kanzler for bordering our export ;) that's ok.

  • @Urbandubdie You seem to be an historical revisionist. Let's remember the damage the German Army had wrought in the USSR. Also, the British cities that were no more than smouldering ruins due to the German Luftwaffe blast bombing and fire bombing. The Allied High Command were well aware of the possibility that Hitler's armed forces may have been close to developing a nuclear warhead to be delivered via the V2 rocket against London and/or Moscow. Germany had to be knocked out cold.

  • @RedGoblinus Pff, the Allies pilgered to Germany like Scavengers to an injured Lion.

Of course there was no other way due to former Politics but there is absolutly no glory

in fighing an outnumbered Nation... it doesn't matter if we talk about fighting Napoleon,

    Kaiser Wilhelm I or Hitler...

  • @Urbandubdie The film does show the result of extreme valour by the British RAF, American USAAF and the Soviet Red Army. Berlin was the vipers' nest of Adolf Hitler and the NAZIs. The death and destruction that was wrought against British cities, Soviet Russia and millions of innocent civilians all over Europe was visited upon Berlin. Adolf Hitler and the NAZIs were even using the people of Berlin as human shields. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

  • @RedGoblinus and i know how brave my grandfather was, fighting in russia...

for germany. But this footage does not show any honor and bratheness...
