First Lady Tackles Childhood Obesity In Q&A With Students

First Lady Michelle Obama talked to C‑SPAN and a group of students at the White House today about one of her signature initiatives "Let's Move" - fighting childhood obesity in America. She joined a LIVE Town Hall with C‑SPAN StudentCam First Prize winner Matthew Shimura and takes calls from other students who submitted StudentCam videos about obesity.

@gayemarasaki-investigate on your own you'll find out the ugly truth.if she really was worried about childhood obesity she would go after the billion dollar companies that market this poisons to children in the first place ex mc donalds,kellogs,etc...and what about the drug companies targeting children too ???saying they got add and such back then there was no such thing because it was common sense to know children are hyperactive.Its not negativity its the truth.and she never mentions Monsanto.

Michelle Obama’s $4.5 billion "Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act" mandates broke school districts to grow gardens and have salad bars, but it begs the question why can’t the existing system be revamped to give children healthier choices without costing a fortune.

It also takes $2.2 Billion away from the Food Stamp Program to fund it. Currently the US pays some farmers not to grow food, and Michelle is on Sesame Street using Elmo to push it.

she should talk about the corporations using cartoons to lure kids to buy this bad foods in the first place,companies like mcdonalds etc.., also Monsanto putting all these chemicals in the foods,poor children they look up to her.one can see through her easily

What a lovely, kind, intelligent lady! I watched the ENTIRE video and I'm very impressed.  Mrs. Obama makes some excellent points in a very compassionate, non-critical way. I can't believe some of the negative comments below.

How nice the Obama's are vacationing in Maine this weekend, dining on lobster drenched in butter and blueberry pancakes drenched in syrup. I'm sick of this "do as I say, not as I do" BS family. American kids are lucky if they have anything to eat with Obama. Enjoy another taxpayer paid vacation. How many is this now?
