Well hack and slash can go from killing mass human like dynasty warriors franchise (which is boring by now) or sneak attack like Assassin's Creed. And most of the early hack and slash games like Zelda and Prince of Persia also had their differences, but you're right somehow, Hack-and-Slash doesn't change that much....
