How the 7-7/8" gauge electric drive locomotive was built.
2 axle trucks. One PM DC motor to each axle.
Powered from 4 deep cycle batteries.
Length about 4-1/2 feet, 16 inches wide, 24 inches high.
Weighting over 800 lbs, top speed just less 1.5mph.
The engineer sits on the rear of it (ride-on type of railroad).
In order to match layout track requirements (tight curves and steep grades), it is geared for slow speed but high pulling power.
It has "AAR" type couplers.

The FCMA (Ferrocarril Modular Argentino) - Argentine Modular Railroad is a completely home made, narrow gauge (7-7/8 inches) line, located at the house backyard.
It is a minimum gauge railroad, not a scaled down model, although it follows the 70`s argentine railroad painting scheme.
