The movie, even more the ethos of a Samurai, is totally lost on you. In feudal Japan a Samurai carried out instant justice. The guys killed a bear out of season because "there aren't to many left" and then threatened him. He correctly responded as a Samurai would. Read a book, do some research, don't just watch the movie, understand it.

Self defense? Are you joking? They had a chat with him, got intimidated and made a racial slurr. They weren't even reaching for their weapons until he fired a gun at them. How could it be self defense? They asked him to get in his car and go. Then he took out two guns and after he shot at them, and only then did they reach for their rifles. We both know it wasn't self defense. And Ghost Dog isn't pretending he shot them for any other reason then he was angry about the bear.

He pulled out his gun, and asked him to get into his car. Intending to warn him away, not kill him. I think its pretty clear that Ghost Dog didn't stop the car for a friendly chat. If Ghost Dog got in the car and left, he would be alive, and so would they. Im not sure how it matters if its a true ocurence, or not. This was not an act of self defence, but an act of revenge for the bear. Its being a movie also doesn't change right into wrong. Killing those two men was understandable, but wrong.

The idea of self defense is also marred by the fact that he double tapped them after they were lying on the ground for the sole purpose of killing them.

Oh I see. Honor is walking around and killing people because your retainer, I guess the bushido would call it, says you should. I don't buy it. I have read the code of the samurai once. Its like fascist garbage if you ask me. Not that anyone is. All that never use an unblooded weapon thing, so samurai used to kill peasants to bloody their swords. Just for nothing. They sounded like mean pricks.

Woah, what the fuck? I never made that comment, to my recollection. In fact, I don't recall ever watching or caring about this, and I'm not a hunter. This is bullshit. Changing password. Thank you, lollipopfop, for replying to my "comment". If you hadn't, I'dve never known that it was here.

Yeah, the problem is that hunting isn't why they are gone. The reason is overpopulation destroying their habitats. Hunting is almost doing them a mercy. Don't get me wrong, I would be angry if I saw a bear hunted and lying on the ground. But that the bear is still dead. So what has he solved by killing the hunters? I must not understand the concept or something. But how has he helped that bear?
