This japanese matchlock rifle was 1st introduced by the Portuguese in the 1500's to the Japanese people, despite the fact that firearms were hated back then, they played a major role in the samurai wars back then, changing the face and etiquite of battle. This rifle is is a muzzle loader and is a matchlock meaning you need a burning wick in order to fire the weapon and the huge difference about this rifle is that this is NOT a shoulder fired weapon, this weapon is basically held by both arms holding it in a basic rifle shooting manner, but the the stock of the weapon is placed a against the face, meaning it is "cheek" fired.
YES I KNOW I SPELLED THANK YOU WRONG!!!!

  • Pretty sure it's a musket not a rifle.

  • @TrangPhatDong Yeah, a matchlock had a effective range of 50 meters and a bow 30 meters and were more and more common in battles in the Azuchi–Momoyama period and the Edo Period. Its an interesting fact that Tokugawa Ieyasu once took 3 or 4 bullets in his undergarments that had been stopped by his armor.

  • does it make a tornado lol

  • how longs the barrel any idea?

  • @DavidUmstattd

Unless you have an actual war to fight...

  • @aa3gunner

I must agree. From a effectiveness standpoint Archery is better than arquebus (unless against armor) however given the low training time for the arquebus and musket it took over the battle field. Which is one reason why the native Americans were able to go toe to toe with the muskets of the Europeans.
