NIGHTY NIGHT ~ Yvonne King ~ 1941 (Bluebird) & 1946 (Capitol). Alvino Rey & his Orchestra are present here also. Probably one of the most remembered of the Four King Sisters records, however, this particular record featured just the beautiful, Yvonne "Vonnie" King. NIGHTY NIGHT ,with Yvonne's sweet vocals and gentle sighing , grabbed the attention of millions of soldiers on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean during the early 1940's. Sadly, Yvonne King passed away on December 13, 2009. My condolences to the King Family. Goodbye Yvonne, you will be missed.

  • I never heard this version of the song. Its real good and very very close to the version that Kennywood uses to close the park with. Its the same people, Alvino Rey and Yvonne King, just a slightly different recording.

  • @kpdave : I have both the 1941 & 1946 versions, slight difference, but you'll notice the difference if you grew up hearing the one and not the other. Never been to Kennywood, sounds like a place I'd like to go to.

  • Thanks for the song. Grew up in Pittsburgh and went to Kennywood at least a few times a year. Moved away since but was back up there recently. Good to see they still play this song at closing. Good times and great memories as always...

  • @matthewdembecki : You're welcome !

  • This take me way back! Just like @mikepcap said, but for me it's Kennywood Park in West Mifflin, PA. I worked there when I was a teenager and not only was this how the park closed every night, but it also meant I was done and could go home for the day after a long day of work! lol

  • God I love this song! Came out 15-17 years before I was born, but who cares. Music from my generation was so negative
