A short video to show you the design of my CNC router Dust hood. Works quite well, and provides great flexibility, when changing tools etc...

  • Thanks for sharing your elegant solution. Do you have a link to purchase the bristles?

  • @wyojustin125 Go to McMasterCar, and do a search for "strip brush.." :-)

  • I do not think a shop vac will create enough vacuum to hold down parts. You will probably need a vacuum pump or a large air compressor with a venturi valve...

  • @cyborg251, thanks. They are on order!

  • Thanks for posting this vid! I was going to go with a different style dust shoe but you've convinced me to try this instead. Having all those various dust skirts for different materials and different heights is a great idea. It would be great if you could post a vid of the dust shoe in action.

  • Very good design. I was thinking about making something like that my self. Have you ever put any thought into using a "Shop-Vac" style vacuum as a vacuum table to hold your workpiece. I have a general idea as to how it should work, but I don't know if it would create enough vacuum pressure to hold the wood/plastic. Any ideas?
