This video shows how the front element moves during Zooming. A discussion came up in a Photo Forum because many thought his lens had a fixed front element. There is so little movement it is hardly noticeable. I made this video for all the people who doubted it.

    Yes, it takes standard 77mm filters.

  • I had the impression from reading the specs that it had an "internal" zooming mechanism, not fixed. Which, with the movement of the front element, doesn't change a thing. It's still inside the construction of the lens, and not a separate tube protruding outwards from the lens. Anyway, one of my favourite lenses to use to this day still. Love it!
