Stivell was intoduced to me by my Scottish friends' father in 1974 and is still a big favorite. I play it in my high school art classes in the Northwest Territories Canada and the students always seem to mellow out and get to work. My friends father also introduced us to the Grateful dead which I still am a big fan of. Go Figure!

Merci pour le post. J'adore Alan stivell depuis mon enfance (j'ai 46 ans). Je me souviens l'avoir vu à la télé au début des années 70. Il était en toge blanche, jouait de sa harpe et chantait de manière si étrange. J'ai été fasciné. J'avais 6-7 ans. Alan StiveIl ne m'a plus jamais quitté. J'aime la musique celtique (et je suis niçois !). Elle me rappelle par certains côtés la musique extrême orientale (similitudes mélodiques, dans le timbre des instruments), propice au rêve et à la méditation.

"Massacré" la musique bretonne? Mais il l'a tirée de l'oubli au contraire, grâce à son père qui a quand même recréé la harpe celtique, sans quoi aujourd'hui il n'y aurait pas cette profusion de jeunes harpistes bretons/voire non bretons, et grâce à son talent (on aime ou pas le personnage, mais il n'empêche qu'il maitrise parfaitement la harpe et a réarrangé magnifiquement des morceaux celtiques que seuls les inités connaissaient.

Je trouve que ces proces fait à Stivell sont un peu deplacés et pueril....Il ne faut pas oublier que si l'on peu aujourd'hui, ecouter de la musique bretonne sans ce faire traiter de bouzeux, c'est un peu grace à lui...lorsqu'il est arrivé au debut des 70's, la musique bretonne etait considerée par le grand publique comme de la simplette musique folklorique...donc rien que pour cela nous pouvons le remercier..
