  • Ah, if you knew anything at all about Scotland then you would know about the old rivalry between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Not in football though, that's between Rangers and Celtic, both Glaswegian 'auld firms'. No, it's the rivalry of culture and right to be capital city. I have family in Irvine, Ayrshire as well as other places. As far as your "Scottish decent" goes, take it from a born Glaswegian, the deeper you look into your family trees the more surprises you may find.

  • I am Scottish from descent, My best friends are from Brookfield, Renfrewshire. Outside Glasow. Is there still tension between Edinburg and Glasgow.........Maybe in football???

  • I'm Glaswegian and the person I was talking to came from Paisley and we both agreed that his accent seemed to wander a bit. Mr Doohan's own Canadian/Scottish root accent came through on occasions as well as wandering from east coast to west coast and back.

  • Scotty claimed to be an old Aberdeen Pub crawler, which be on the North east coast of the North Sea. Jimmy Dohan accent was something he like to practice with.. Even Scotmen that he was really Scottish.

  • Hmm...I think the guy playing Scotty should watch "Scottish Trek" onYouTube a few times. I think that the late great James Dohan is shaking his fist in that great beyond yelling "I was better than that!" And before any fellow Scots can yelp about accent, someone I met at an all night Movie Trek said that James Dohan had told her that he thought Scotty's accent was more north east coast. Something to think about?
