was that at a school

The reason it happens like that is because since they're live and not in a studio, they can't project their voice as high because of nervousness, fear of sounding obnoxious, and they're trying not to be so loud so that their voice doesn't crack while they try to mimic the actual sound (in Joanna's case anyway) I love both versions.

what a great intimate show, most of the crowd was sitting cross-legged on the floor..
probably one of the more intimate shows i've seen as well as certainly the most impressive

I hate the way she sings it here. Like, whenever someone sings live for an audience, they decide it'd be cool to change up the way they sing the song, but really, I adore the way she sings it on the CD.
And she even changes a couple of the words here, too. That bothers me for some reason.
I'm certainly not trying to diss her, but I'm definitley going to say that I don't like this as much as her CD. It happens to about every artist I hear live.

justin timeberlake is dorky and everyone likes him

genia !

I love her, she's so unique and her lyrics are beautiful. I can't beleive my imbecile of a sister called her a 'dorky harp player'. SO RUDE!

I always like it when somebody comes along and completely does such totally unique like the harp. Yes, she isn't the first but when you hard guitar & drums 60K times a day, it's a nice change. I really admire her work.

Why would one want to hear a performance exactly the same as the studio recording? Surely the variation in the song is what makes it worth while performing live? Otherwise one may as well look at a picture of the artist while listening to the cd.

Hey. She wrote the song. She can sing it any way she wants. (I kinda agree with you though, I hate it when singers do wierd shit to your favorite songs live!)
