A mysterious number above other people that the hero is able to see after obtaining his COMP. He quickly learns that the number is ticking down, and that the day it hits 0 is the day that person dies...

The main character's cousin. He was taken into the main character's household at a young age when he lost his parents. He currently lives in an apartment in Aoyama. Many in the programming community are in awe of his incredible coding skills.

The death clock runs on a prediction sequence. Every day, the main characters get an e-mail on their COMPs, predicting all that will happen today. Based off these predictions, they set the death clock to be viewed by certain COMP owners. If any of these predictions are wrong, however, their death clock changes, as their prediction never came true. Like if it said there was going to be a robbery at a store, and they stopped the robbery, it was a false prediction, and the death clock changes.
