I remember, as a little boy, when the Empire Builder (the old Great Northern railway) used to sail through there in the middle of the night on its way to Seattle. It would stop here on demand. Those were the glory days of passenger rail, and they faded fast.. Late forties, early fifties.
you should checkout the Stevens County Historical Society Museum and read about the many cool stories around the train stations-many interesting ones! The train is sure loud when it goes through town-it'll be cool to get a video footage on it! Viewers might have to lower the volume!
