Look, Galt. You AND Ayn Rand ignore a basic fact about human beings. One that makes us the most successful species in the history of the planet:

We're are cooperative and communal. We band together and work to enhance the common good. We care for our weak and infirm. We form clans and associations.

We agree on codes of behavior. We create laws to formalize them and authorities to enforce them.

Government is inevitable! The true problem is how to make the powers that be more accountable.

Government is only a tool. Like any invention of man, it can improve our circumstances...or diminish them. Much of what you wrote is true. Increasingly, our government is serving the interests of fewer and fewer of its citizens. The important question is "why"?
