This is a moose hunt we did up the Stewart Cassiar Highway in 2001. We drove up the Canadian side of the Alaskan Panhandle. We hunted near Dease Lake. We took 2 bulls. The first bull my cuz took with his 7mm mag out of his tree stand he made...and he called the bull in. It has a spread of 46" and weighed 596 lbs. at the butcher. The second bull we got because of another that Jason was trying to get. And I heard it talking and I told them and then we all went down after it. It was with a cow and my cuz did a call and the cow turned around and the bull said u can't have my girlfriend...and charged out of the timber at us and we let him have it. I was shooting my great uncle Vine's 30-06. It has a 47" spread with elk like spears for some tines. It weighed 717 lbs. at the butcher (just the four quarters).

  • I am amazed at how many page views you get by now.

  • Its not me they wish to see its the adventures outdoors and the Moose are always magnificent to see so I think many people wish to view the majestic Moose.

  • My girfriend and I were lucky enough to draw a moose tag this year. It will nice to go after a big bull instead of immatures, that's the only open season we have here.

  • Hey, I know what you mean. We used to go for the immatures when we didn't get any draws.

Then we started going further north, where bulls are open when we received no draws.

    Luckily, we often are drawn.

I was drawn for a Bull Moose this year, I've been pretty lucky with the draws in all!

Congrats on your draw, I wish I had a girlfriend who was into the outdoors and would go hunting, your lucky with more than just the draw there!

Good luck, and hope I get to see some vid or pics of success!

  • hey dude i was wondering were do u thing is the best place to hunt moose...

  • It seems to me that the more north you go the better it gets...the price can get yah though...fuel alone to travel far is costly.
