Watch in HD Please :).
Hey, made another test vid with my canon hg21.
This time, it was better weather. And subsequently, better lighting.
ALSO, this time I tried uploading in full HD 1920x1080. Last time, I had downsized the footage for youtube at 1280x720.

The 'original' clip does not have pulldown removed. That's why it seems laggy.
This was shot in 24fps, with cine mode.

Editing done mainly in After Effects, and the clip was put together in Premiere Pro.

Enjoy! :)

  • The sound is killer - but does it have anything common with this camera??

  • @Hobott Well the music is from Kevin Macleod/Incompetech. The rest of the audio is from the cameras onboard mic

  • how? i cant get mt2s into after effects!!!! file is unsupported.... did you get some codecs or something? if so where?

please help. i will sub :D

  • @XJayStudiosX Hey, what version of After Effects are you using? I have CS4 and it works flawlessly with it. CS5 will also work obviously.

I'm not so sure about previous versions of After Effects however.

  • @shilpinator cs4. full version.... although i did do a shifty with the installation. downloaded trial and put a file in the folder to make it stop asking for serial number and 30days became forever. So i don't know. No codecs were installed? you didnt use a video converter?

  • @XJayStudiosX lol "shifty" :P.

hmm I'm not sure. I don't remember how I installed my After Effects, but obviously I didnt buy it haha. Maybe try torrenting a different one? :S

No video converter lol. BUT if theres no other way for you, and you need to convert your avchd into another format to bring into after effects or whatever, I use a converter called "Free AVCHD Converter" and it works pretty good.

  • Very nice, it's a very tiny change but it does make it look much better, even if it's just a little change. :)

  • Nice job on the After Effects part! I could learn a thing or two from you! I'm not that good with After Effects to be honest. I'm trying to get the hang of Apple's Motion now, since it came along with the Final Cut Studio package (I use Final Cut Pro as my editing program).

  • i really like the original look best

  • @MadHouseArts i've barely used final cut so im not sure

  • do you use final cut ?

how i can have this good quality.?

what i have to do by the export.

    pls help

  • @ColombianForLife well the "smoothing" is simply just removing the pulldown. this camera adds 1 extra copied frame every 4(ithink) frames because this camera doesnt actually record in 24fps. it envelopes these 24 frames into 30 frames by adding that 1 extra frame(copied) every 4 frames. by removing pulldown, you remove the copied frame, so it doesnt look laggy
