My favorite performance of Ysaye's 3rd sonata for solo violin. Performed by Ilya Kaler.

  • Ilya Kaler is nothing short of amazing, and definitely one of the greatest violinists of our time. If you like this, I suggest you listen to his Brahms. He brings a musicality to it that I think is truly unparalleled.

  • This piece has quarter tones, in this excellent version are in the passage starting at about 4:00.
