This video is imformative in the schema it provides us, it allows us to better understnad YouTube's structure. I'd love to hear what you all feel about these ads, this structure, this steady encroachment of capital into a "democratic space" that is not equally available to all.

More than anything, it seems as though Youtube is the most recent entity to take advantage of the popularity=money aspect that we all know corporations use. This has managed to turn youtube viewing into having your experience surrounded by ads with an ad within the video. Could youtube make money any other way? Probably not, after all its the nature of the beast.

p.s. Much to our professors disbelief, our generation is not the one leading the mindless drone army of YouTube users, but it is infact the generation of our professor.

This class has accomplished the incredible feats of reaching a million views, getting Juhasz to learn the Soulja Boy dance, gain the attention of corperate YouTube, bring GoRemy and Prettythingsss, conduct entire research projects from within the site, and gain attention from the press.

Over the course of this class we have learned the ins and outs of this media outlet like no other, critically analyzing the site probably even better than some of the employees of YouTube itself. We have truly taken this medium of media and pushed it the point of creating a functional academic space, which in all honesty I never thought possible.

This is proof that there are many things to learn on YT about the media, corporations and their interactions with their audiences.I wanted to learn about the role YT plays in the world of new media in terms of how it is used and the effects of its use. We have accomplished this in our class.We know all there is to know about how this site works, and we will just have to wait for it to exist longer to further theorize its effects on media and society.
