From the video, you can see the person is WALKING, not JOGGING when the front wheel begins shaking uncontrollably.

The front wheel of our baby trend jogging stroller has a nasty habit of shaking violently when walking at a brisk pace, NOT jogging. The wheel will begin to rapidly move left and right before causing the stroller to lurch to a sudden stop when the wheel finally ends up perpendicular to the stroller. This is very dangerous because my wife was stuck in an intersection while trying to get across when the front wheel stopped the stroller in its tracks!

Baby Trend's customer service representative, who was obviously reading from a rather condescending script, told us that we were not using the stroller properly and that they would have a quality engineer take a look at it if we ship it in. Yet, page 7 of the instruction manual says, "Always lock the front swivel wheel of your jogging stroller before you begin to jog. Please see figure 18a.
CAUTION: Before you begin to jog make sure the front swivel wheel of
the jogging stroller is locked in the straight position." (http://www.babytrend.com/pdf/9199_instructions.pdf). Locking the front wheel also makes it nearly impossible to quickly turn the stroller.

Baby Trend, you have designed a terrible stroller and I hope you take the time to either listen to your entry-level engineers or just lock the front wheels of you jogging strollers in place! Maybe you should define what you consider jogging: 1 mph, 3 mph, 4 mph, etc...

  • well it looks like you guys DIDNT lock the wheel....as seen on the last second of the video...she steered the stroller n the wheel trned perfectly...maybe you should read about how to lock the wheel

  • @raulopes The video shows how even when walking, which Baby Trend says DOESN'T require the lock to be engaged, the front wheel starts to shake violently.

I did read the manual; in fact, I quoted it in the video description,"Always lock the front swivel wheel of your jogging stroller before you begin to jog. Please see figure 18a.

CAUTION: Before you begin to jog make sure the front swivel wheel of

the jogging stroller is locked in the straight position."

  • Let me know what the company's response was. What stroller did you switch to?

  • @andrenhawaii : The company representative told my wife that there was no problem with the design and that it was our fault that the stroller wasn't working. The response was too quick and scripted - it gave the impression that Baby Trend is well aware of this problem but refuses to fix the design.

We bought a Graco stroller instead; it's not a jogging stroller (it has 4 wheels, not 3) but we haven't had a single problem with it.

  • lol @" uh yeah baby trend, how ya gonna fix this"

  • That's wrong on they're part, not yours. How dare they try to blame you the customer that is profiting thier business is even more wrong considering the video clearly shows the flaw. I hope you were able to get at least a refund. I would of told them your putting my baby in jeporay & unless the problem is fixed or issued a full refund you will file a lawsuit (bluffing of course) a friend of mine did and they were quick to jump and issued a full refund. Glad your new stroller is working out you.

  • But I feel bad shaking someone else's baby around. Its ridiculous how we can't even cross the street. The rep also told me even at a slow jog I should lock the wheel. WHAT?! That is not why I wanted a jogging stroller. Looking into Baby Jogger City Mini.

  • I know. I have this exact one. Rep told me to take the foot rest off there should be a red arrow pointing to the screw that needs to be tightened when wobbles. I will be doing this tomorrow. As you know this stroller is awkward really heavy & it's not that easy on your back going in & out in the car. Researching now. I see its on sale from $240 to $199. Baby Trend knows this is a problem. Lets hope I can tighten it up tomorrow. I'd like to sell it & purchase another.

  • Thanks for the reply. Based on the information in this video, I decided to invest in a BOB and I don't have any regrets...
