Why do other people EVEN BOTHER doing this role? No one can top Patti. No one.

Patti is great. There may be prettier actresses, better singers, and better actresses that do her roles, but Patti has that something that makes legends.

wow i just realized this conversation took place...
it was definitely just an observation, idk why it got belligerent..
Anyway, it confused me because this is the only known recording of her singing it in any different key. This was in '06, and she still tours with this song in the original key.
Just a funny thought.
And btw... he was right, no one has ever paid me exactly ten cents to sing.

les miserables is playing here in vancouver, that's what brought me here...and my love for patti, of course :O) she's the best ever!

No susan Boyle did not bring me heat and she is not better that Patti. I love Patti Lupone and i think she is better.

Were they in a cave?

Anyone else like her version on the cast recording better? On the recording her voice was so pure and I felt like she completely BECAME Fantine. Here, I feel like the song is loosely interpreted. Anyone agree?

Copy and paste if Susan Boyle brought you here!!

Copy and paste if Susan Boyle brought you here
(i think susan sounds soo much prettier and powerful too!)

Um..he was stating a fact. The song is performed a half step lower. Why the hostility?

FYI, guys, I don't think you don't have to copy that last part in the part in the parentheses...That was that person's add-on...Unless you all believe it, too. Just saying.

It was symbolic of one leading lady handing over to the other as Les Miz took over from cats as the longest running show in history.

That much was obvious, but I thought it was a little curious that they had her stop at "When they turn your dreams to shame"; perhaps a little irony, considering that they thought Les Miz would be a bomb? Then again, there may not have been a better place to stop.
