@siblikios As far as uploading I have not uploaded any songs for a while and maybe I will start again... and thank you for the positive feedback.. I am from Greece originally.
-
@siblikios Once the devil came to take a man from Ipiros to his eternal life but the man from Ipiros said to the devil let me have a last wish before I go... he said let me listen to a song from my area... well... the song, needless to say, goes on forever in that slow pace and the devil himself just blew up and could not take the man to his death lol
-
Yes, that is correct it is "Stis Pargas Ton Aniforo" and the word "aniforo" means a raised area or a small hill. I can tell you a joke about this type of music.
-
@lsdvine the right is "stis pargas ton aniforo" and not antho This song is also from Ipiros. Maybe Elenitsa will upload it. Its amazing questions about tradional greek music. Where are u from?
-
@Elenitsa3 This music from Ipiros is truly amazing... I have never heard a clarinet sing. I have heard the wonder of the Bulgarians 'Jankulov', Pamukov and Malakov and they are unbelievably fast. It seems this is its 'ante' beautiful slow tempo wallowing in beauty!
-
I hope this will make it more interesting for you ... you will find many different singers performing this song as all traditional songs are carried from one generation to another and this song has been sung by previous generations already. Again thank you for your interest in this type of music... and yes our soul craves for beautiful music. :)
-
@lsdvine Pikrodafni is a laurel type or a bay plant and "pikro" means bitter... so symbolically he is under this bitter laurel plant , because he is mourning the loss of his love.
-
@Elenitsa3 That is so true, in the words of king arthur, "I did not know how empty was my soul but til it was filled". I will learn the lyrics... tell me what kind of plant is the pikrodafni? :)
-
@Isdvine You ask a very interesting question. It it helps Parga is a town in Greece..as pikrodafni is a plant. However, this particular music comes from the same region in Greece called Ipiros...here the musical pace is slower and the use of the clarinet is prominent...glad you show interest in this Greek traditional music... I just enjoy all types of music, because music reflects our feelings in our soul...:)
