  • Ah, we sang this (the entire messe de minuit) at a christmas concert last year. Nostalgia...A truly beautiful choral piece.

  • what a beautiful version of this lovely work. while I agree with the writer below that "l'intro est un peu longuette" (the introduction is a bit on the long side) it doesn't take away from the serenity of the music whatsoever, we just have to practice some delayed gratification while we wait to hear our parts to practice or whatever we are waiting for. Well then, enjoy the music , Bien! appréciez la musique!

  • Charpentier used as an opportunity to perform oratorio-like works on the theme of the mass, such as an oratorio on the Christmas story (like H. 416) for midnight mass.

  • @dezangerman haha me too - also dutch btw?

  • magnifique !

  • Very nice. We will be singing it in our local church at midnight Christmas Eve

  • A note: the actual Kyrie of the Christmas Mass of Charpentier is preceded in this performance by the instrumental Nuit of the In nativitatem Domini canticum H. 416. Good choice, even if it had no place in a XVIIth c. French mass.
