David Carradine (December 8, 1936 June 3, 2009), born John Arthur Carradine, was an American actor best known for his work in the 1970s television series Kung Fu and more recently in the movie Kill Bill. He appeared in more than 100 feature films and was nominated four times for a Golden Globe Award.
On June 4, 2009, Carradine was found dead in his room at the Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel on Wireless Road, near Sukhumvit, in central Bangkok, Thailand.[2][3] A police official said Carradine was found hanging by a rope in the room's closet.[13][14] Meanwhile, the Bangkok Post reported that his body was found curled up in the wardrobe with a shoelace tied around his penis and neck.[15]

Khunying Pornthip Rojanasunand, a flamboyant Thai forensic pathologist and Director of Forensic Science Institute, gave the presumption, in reference to forensic theory, that the death of Carradine was an autoerotic accident; stating the incident met with four of the criteria for same. While Pol Lt Gen Worapong Chewprecha, Commander of the Metropolitan Police, remarked that the closed circuit television installed within the hotel supporting no external persons being involved with the death.[16][17][18] Carradine's representative and family members told the press that they believed the death to be accidental and not a suicide.[19]

Carradine was in Bangkok to shoot his latest movie, Stretch, but the film crew were aware of his absence when they went to dine out at a restaurant on June 3.[2]

  • RIP David Carradine! We'll never forget you and your films!

  • @AvEryBadApPLe he was a man like any other rman. just because he was idealized thanks to the public median of television, does not make him Jesus Christ. he had his own sinful nature and he had his secret unspoken desires and personal perversions. Just like YOU, my pious little friend. just like you.

  • I stand corrected you were right, He called it the Warrior, man that sucks. Weird Guru Inosanto never talked about it much. But good job man you made believer out of me LOL.

  • Once again He auditioned for the role....as in came in to the room broke out some nunchuku and did some moves for the producer Robert Wagner, originally yes he was set-up to play Kain, however the last audition they had was David Carradine they felt he was a better fit, why? I don't know. But Bruce Lee never wrote a screen play for Kung Fu, If he did I'm sure Guru Inosanto would know about it, Let it go its in the past.

  • Bruce Lee never created Kung Fu, He merely auditioned for the role Robert Wagner wrote the screen play for, Trust me I had a nice long Talk with Dan Inosanto who was Bruce Lee's Best Friend and assistant Instructor. He told me Kung Fu was never Bruce's Idea that was something they put in Dragon the Bruce Lee story, which he and I are pissed about

  • Well that was because Bruce Was 1/2 Chinese and the producers were racist. But if Bruce Lee went on to do this show do you think he would have had time to make Fist of Fury, Big Boss, or even the fabled Enter the Dragon these films made him a start...his heart made him a legend. Truthfully I'm glad he did not do this show, I give respect to those who earned it and regardless of David Carradines abilities what he did for kung fu you cannot measure.

  • so u say that it is not disrespect for bruce and martial arts to give a role for a man who didnt know nothing about martial arts if u are martial artist remember this was time when there was not much respect for martial arts it was all the effort of bruce

  • in ur comment u say that the movie was disrispectful for bruce anyway do u know better what is disrespect for bruce than hes own wife linda lee and i tried to belive that other stuff also that bruce was not presense from the start of the creation prosess of kungfu but u was wrong coz also other hollywood staff widely agrees this and i dont think we knew things of this issue better than actors and staff of hollywood of that time and today ewrybody know that role was creatied for bruce to starr
