artistes like Measha and Netrebko breathe new life into this art form. they make it current and relevant to my generation...thank God for variety and newness, freshness of new verdant vegetables. Exquisite.

@philipc67 ... I stand corrected re: Jesseye Norman. It seems she did perform MANY Operatic roles during her early career. However, I can only find records of her "concert performances" of "Aida." In all levels, however, Norman is a force to be reckoned with. Amazingly, she easily switch between Dramatic and Mezzo Soprano Leads... no mere feat! But, back to Meesha: I'm a fan of Messha, AND, now that I've heard it, I actually PREFER Caballe's verson of this particular piece. Divas RISE!

Why not give this piece a new twist? I agree that she overacts sometimes, but still this is called "EXTASE de la Vierge". And I find this rendition pretty extatic and intoxicating.
