Here is what I came up with. To unlock I'd say I recommend softunlock. com
For those of you wanting to jailbreak I recommend softjailbreak. com The best part of all is that the work and don't cost a single penny.

i unlocked my 3gs iphone and my wifes 2g using unlock-iphone . org , was pretty easy to do
