  • I said "Just" preaching doesn't work. Students don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. I speak Every Wednesday night but we also invest some time building relationships. It's ALL about relationships... with God, eachother and our world. And yes, I believe Jesus played games with his disciples.

  • @udeadeyee to the random judger playing games may seem dumb and pointless but for a new kid coming to youth group who doesn't know anyone it is a great way to break the ice with other kids and make friends. It lets them know they are accepted. "Acceptance paves the way for influence." - andy stanley

  • I don't get it, what are the rules?

  • @udeadeyee Kids in the church is better than kids on the street and I'm sure they did more that night than play games.

  • love it will use it with my youth

  • @passkubalon Although games can take away meaningful face to face talking with leaders, I totally agree that they can "break the ice with other kids".

  • btw. thanks for the game idea matthew!

  • @010byg The way you are supposed to lead people to Christ is by preaching the good news. Jesus said "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel", he didn't say "Invite all your pagan friends to come into my house of worhip and play games.". That's how you lead people to Christ, by going out and telling them about him. We are fishers of men but you can't fish from your living room, you have to get out on the water.

  • @udeadeyee your missing the point....yes the whole point is to attract non christians, how else do you lead people to Christ...games are just the bait, the gospel is the hook and we are to be fishers of men are we not?

  • @prestonhocker You are right, I'm only 16 and I don't pretend to know it all. All I know so far I can only credit to the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • @prestonhocker I agree that it is about building relationships, first with God, then with leaders. Wouldn't one on one time work better than games though? And where in the Bible does it say to build relationships with the world.

I would agree that Jesus probably did play games with his deciples, but not with the crowds of people he preached to. He didn't use games to "Lure" people in.
