@BlogBitch Thanks for the info and Vids. We're from Australia and decided to visit Brighton the last few days of our holidays in Sept this year. I lived in Blackpool before leaving for Aussie in 1955 and we have, or had 3 piers there. It seemed so sad to see a pier in such a wrecked state. We went on the present one and it took me right back to the time I use dto visit Blackpool North shore pier when I was a youngster. We enjoyed Brighton. very much and thought it was quite a lively place
@elghian There was a plan to rebuild the West Pier back in 1998) but some fucker set fire to it. Rumour was, the owners of the East pier did not want the competition.. Whatever, it was the 'wrecked pier' where all the starlings roosted. After the fire we all wonderered where they would go. There are vids of them at the west pier much more spectacular. One of the highlights of my time living in Brighton..:)
Today, in the San Francisco Sunday newspaper, there was an article about starlings, with the wonderful word "murmuration" used -- and for only that reason, I searched You Tube, and found this video, and think it's one of the most pleasant. I'm glad England likes its starlings; here, they apparently look upon them as non-native pests. I hope the authorities don't start carding them. I am only half serious.

Starlings love sharks. Symbiotic. Most people don't realize that either. They live inside of them. I'm not serious.
