if the amp had direct outs couldn't you just use that to get the exact sound of the amp?
-
I love the tone of your electric guitar in the intro song. What was used to achieve it?

How do you know how far away to place a condenser mic from the amp without damaging it?
-
Cheers! Great vid :) Last one was deffooo the best, i've used this technique using:
SE 1000A Condenser Microphone
SM47 Dynamic Microphone
Marshall 50W Amp
Ibanez SA series Guitar
BOSS Multieffects Pedal
Cheers again for the great tutorial ;)

nice job man

If you can't get a good tone out of a Boogie Lonestar and Sennheiser e609/ Shure Sm57 you are in the wrong line of work. Kinda of a "point and shoot" situation.
Sounds great! Nice Video.

What preamp and interface did you use for the mics?

center and the outside of the kewn? wtf you implying haha

Gotta watch phase with 2 tho, lining up both diaphragms of the mics correctly
What if you have a 2x12 amp. Where would you put the mic? Also, could I use a mic, like the Sm57, and put it directly into Garageband or Audacity? Thanks! 5/5

The mic placement is relative to the speaker itself, so just pick one of the two and apply the techniques. If you have an interface with a mic preamp, you would be fine to use an SM57 for recording.
