Tulsa's Buried Belvedere Lid Section #3 being removed.
These are some of the first glimpses of the car that had been buried 50 years.

"On June 15, 2007, a 1957 Plymouth Belvedere buried in Tulsa, Oklahoma during the 1957 Tulsarama! was freed from its concrete vault under the Tulsa Courthouse lawn."

  • To bad they didn't think about putting a drain system in the tomb. It would've come out like brand new.

  • @vexviper

I talked to a guy who is an engineer and was there when they did this and he said that is what he kept telling them, but the committee wouldn't listen to him. He also wanted to connect the vault to the HVAC system to control the atmosphere. Too bad they didn't listen.....

  • I bet the Germans could have gotten it sealed correctly.

  • That car would have looked like it rolled off a car showroom and been in working condition if the Germans were in charge of the burial. Germans can do anything but beat the Americans in Wars

  • @guccamain nope the car dose not work :D sad if you did not know it :D

  • can you imagine what this would have looked like had they kept it wrapped above ground, on jack stands in a small room completely sealed off with brick or cinder block?

  • name of the song

  • why did they bury it anyways?

  • shoulda have used an air tight steel vault.

  • @0100110101001011 if it was an air tight valt with no fluids in the engin it might run without rebuilding it
