  • Wonderful movie, life mission and attitude!

About the multi-generational comment of needing more workers, you could establish an intentional community or invite WWOOFers to stay for more workers to leave more time to develop your online and publishing businesses.

  • Thanks for your suggestion. We have thought about the possibility of an intentional community as there are several in our area and we originally bought our cows from Twin Oaks in Louisa Va where we started our first homestead. We have found community is essential for anyone who wants to get away from the system. We will have to see how it develops for us.

  • just wondering if you covered it with damp burlap it would dry slower and not crack as much ? a bucket of water and a wet but not soaking sponge could be used to smooth out the final coat, let dry for 10-15 min.before sponging.great job...i want to build one now.

  • Thank you for your suggestion. We are probably going to rebuild the oven next year and we might try that. Most of the bad crack come from heating the oven though.

  • You can buy a lazer tempurature gadge (used for air conditioner repair and such) for tempurature inquirys.

I used one for the oven I used, so you know exactly where the hot spots are in your oven.

the laser also isgood for EVERYTHING!

you can tell your goats temp, your plants surface, the temp of the clouds, the temp of water, etc....

it is so convienent for the cob oen!

  • Thank you for your suggestion it sounds like a good idea.

  • how hot does the outside of the oven actually get?

  • You have a beautiful life. My wife and I both watched a few of these cob process videos and were brought to tears by the achingly beautiful lifestyle you lead with your family. Thank you for being a beacon in this world to inspire others.

  • @pocketsofthefuture I admire what you all are attempting to accomplish. I wish you much success.

  • whats better to use for the flat surface ?clay bricks? and for the walls adobe? which holds heat better?is the same to use adobe for the whole?

  • I love the way the pizza peel was leaning against the wet manure! Hardcore!

  • I like the chicken in the cob.
