  • why doesn't crisco have trans fat if it is made of hydrogenated oil? i though the conversion creates transfat into the product..

  • @albertescamilla Crisco is blend of hydrogenated cottonseed & partially hydrogenated soybean/cottonseed oils. One tbs (12) g serving = 3 g of SFA, 0 g trans fat, 6 g of PUFA, 2.5 g of MUFA. FDA allows listing of trans fat with less than 0.5 gram per serving as 0. This is deceptive: Recipe for 24 cookies calls for cup of shortening = 16 tbs, so each cookie = 8 grams of shortening. So 4 cookies (32 grams = almost 3 servings of shortening) may contain 1.5 grams of trans fat.

  • Im from England and i don't know if you have them in the U.S.A but i eat allot of "Black Jacks" which contain hydrogenated vegatable oils...but i skateboard ans play basketball ( i exercise) will this ....put me in danger of possably killing me???

  • Thank you for posting this video. There has been research on the effects of hydrogenated oils on the ability of cells to carry out metabolic processes. Most people speak about the negative coronary effects of such fats, but it would be nice if there were more videos explaining the toxicity of these fats on cells by blocking passage via cell membranes of vital nuturients for the cell.

  • Thank you so much will be visiting your website

  • @incontinencedoc Ok, so the studies that found coconut oil to be bad said that was because it was hydrogenated coconut oil creating the trans fat (which I know is very bad). It seems like most are saying organic cold pressed EVCO is best (what I'm using). I'm going to hold off and see what else I can find on this before making a decision. Thanks for the info.

  • Saturated fat is not good as it is solid at room temperature and tends to clog our arteries. On the other hand, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats that are liquid oils at room temperature are far healthier--so better to consume vegetable fats than animal fats. Tropical oils are terrible being very similar to animal fats. Here is my rule of thumb--any oil you slather on your body that is a component of lotions and sunscreens, you do NOT want to eat!
