Dave Matthews's environmental irony - chill out DMB fans!

Dear DMB ultra-fans: clearly I have struck a nerve and many of you are incapable of tolerating a joke at the expense of someone you seem to think is the Savior Almighty. I'm sorry to inform you that (1) he's just a mortal musician, not the 2nd coming of Jesus, and (2) this is just a YouTube satire video, very tongue-in-cheek. I have no real objection to DMB music (hell, my crappy college band did lots of DMB covers...like 15 years ago) or his activism, but when your neighborhood association tells you "cars will be frowned upon" during a "green concert" while there are dozens of generators and big-rig trucks running all day for half the week, it's too funny not to take a video of, no matter the "green" efforts taking place through ReverbRock.org. There's no need to rise up like Iraqi insurgents as if I had just insulted the prophet Muhammad; your zeal for a rock star is as frightening as I am annoying. I think I get the gist of your comments (I suck, I am gay, and I am a douche), so I think it'll save us all some time if we just stipulate that we all need lives and close this comment section down. Dave Matthews was in Atlanta this weekend, clogging up my neighborhood for days and imposing a no-car zone for several blocks in order to hold a "green concert" for the environment. This green concert also required dozens of trucks, buses, RVs, and generators to be running for three days leading up to the event to build the ginormous venue on our nice green meadow. It was pure visual irony, and I couldn't resist documenting it -- much to the chagrin of many DMB die-hard zealots.

Hey dude.. you call yourself a liberal. but you came off in that video as a typical uneducated conservative, DMB and Dave Matthews himself have done many environmentally friendly things in the past. such as a program that ask the bands fans to donate to offset there carbons that was the fans used to go to the concert.

also Dave Matthews is on the board of Farm Aid which strives to save the family farm and promote locally environmentally friendly grown food.

Why must you neglect the good DMB does for the environment, yet focus on the bad? And you act as if all the money they are making from this show and donating to the park isn't going to offset the damage done by a few lights and generators. DMB's buses run on bio-diesel fuel, and the band also regularly donates to many causes having to do with environmental concerns.

You act as if this band is full of shit, and doesn't do anything to help out the environment. This is purely naive.

Also, in regards to "Dave pooping incident" as you have mentioned. It was the bus driver, who wasn't even with any of the band members of the time.Not only did Dave Matthews himself donate plenty of money to those affected by that, but he also fired the bus driver and there was a legal law suit against the bus driver...His name I believe is Steve Whol...look it up and get your facts straight.

Ok, so I am a Dave fan. Im going to my 22nd and 23rd show this summer. But Dave is a huge nazi-liberal. Just because I like his music (when its not politically driven) doesnt mean I cant spot his incredibly hypocritical stance on environmental issues. For example: the fact that all members of the band have there own MEGA tour bus that they individually travel on. What was that about the environment, Dave??? Dave, I love your music....just dont have a political conversation with me, PLEASE.
