The difference is; a regular rider isn't going to beat the crap out of their horse or run it so hard it's leg snaps. Horse racing isn't natural nor are a lot other horse sports. I'm very familiar with horses having been around them nearly my entire life. I've seen plenty of races, watched a thoroughbred grow up and start his training but no matter which way I try to look at it, I can't deny the fact that there is cruelty involved here.

Horse racing is sport like each other. What about show jumping? Here horses fall most ofen. And riders too. An dressage? Isn´t it cruel using spourse and smart bit? I think, that dressage is for horse more uncomfortable than racing.Running is natural for them.

If you want prohibit horse racing, shouldn´t we prohibit riding in cars, because hier died hunderts and thousands people every day?

Thank you for putting up this video people have no clue how good race horses have it i have been a prof. jockey for 2 years and been galloping for 4 and what people don't seem to get is that if you spend over $100,000.00 on a horse the last think you are going to do is abuse it. yes we have whips put you try hitting a horse hard at 40mph and hunched over you can't it is simply a Q we give them and i have felt it and did not hurt me and i on;y way 115so i bet a horse can make it threw

I have always had a fascination with horse racing ever since I was little. I love the horses and the excitement. I don't why they can't makes some changes to make things safer. Why do they have to race at such a young, underdeveloped age? Why on such a big track, do they have to race so close together? And you can't be blind to what this sport is really about..$. Correct well done, racing isn't cruel, sure you get the exception where a muppet will abuse a horse and he is kicked out of the sport straight away, the people that say racing is cruel really do not know about the sport.... But you don't know what goes on behind the scenes.... The horses aren't harmed in horses racing from whips- you would know because the horses would have marks and scars from where they've been smacked.

But I DO think the grand national is wrong because horses break their legs.

Many horses are born every year for racing, just to be killed because they aren't worth the money to train. Horses are also often raced before their skeletal systems have fully developed, and may be drugged-bronchodilators to widen air passages, hormones to increase oxygen-carrying red blood cells, cone snail or cobra venom injected into a horse’s joints to ease pain. and dont say that the barely walking thing never happens because i've seen a 10 year old mare that stagers around and has a really bad sway back from being riden and running hard at such a young age. she can get up and down but sometimes we have to help her up. she gets shots and stuff so i gess shes not in pain but idk shes not mine, i would have put her down so she wouldnt suffer
