  • everyx i stop smoking and drinking the visions and feelings of being raped over power me and it is only the weed and drink that make it go away - any suggestions?

  • @janelois6 You are telling yourself a story. Weed and drink is not the only thing that can make it go away. I understand you don't want the feelings of being raped. What feelings do you want instead?

  • I cant believe how right you were. It all makes sense to me because i only start feeling bad when i say, "no alcohol tonight," and i end up not being able to trust myself at all. That is the worse part. I end up hating my self, A LOT. Anyway my question is if you live with someone and you only drink when around them how do you not let them influence you? (btw nice background)

  • @BorderLandMan1 To begin, ask yourself what is more important to you than being influenced by this person you are living with. Once you have decided what's more important, look for ways to develop, reinforce or build upon that belief.

  • Started drinking heavy for about 5 years ago, around 12 pack of beer every other or 3rd day just because it was fun, on weekends both fri and sat, then my gf left me and then it got really heavy. Ive been sober now for almost 30 days but the abstinens symptoms i have from not getting alcohol is horrible. I never tought that recovery could be this fucking hard. I dont feel the need to drink but my body is killing me. I heard that i takes up to 3 to 6 months to recover. Enough drinking for me.

  • @janelois6 this is why im a fan of guns :) hes actually on a strange tooic im not good on :). self confidence :)

  • @BorderLandMan1 You made this comment a year ago. How is it going now. Just curious, because I feel like this now.

  • hi, i'm 23. i drink a bottle of red wine a night. that may not be as much as some other alcoholics drink, but it's starting to become a problem. my health is fine and i'm a functional alcoholic, but financially it's getting a bit much. i'm planning on quitting so that the problem doesn't escalate.

  • thank you

  • that river behind him almost looks like mine in the morning

  • Excellent advice; I'm definitely at 'this point' in my life, where I would very much like to drink much less.......but in most cases I have failed. You've given me some new strategy to do this.

  • Nothing like instant gratification. I promised myself that if sober life sucks bad enough, then I can kill myself. Whats really F up is I actually perform better with alcohol.

  • @18bulldog18 Try and keep you drinking on a leash. Don't let it get to the point where your saying to yourself "Ohh i will just drink two days out of the week" and before you know it your drinking three days and 4 days... I
