N scale train on the Columbia & Western. Video shot with Point and Shoot camera...sorry in advance for the image flares, especially in the transitions to the snow scenes. Poor little camera didn't know what all that white was when it hit it!

  • Wow. Very nice! How big is this?

  • Hi @sonicvisionmedia ... about 16' x 22'. A track plan is included on the Flikr page listed on my Youtube channel. It is also included in an article on the C&W in this year's Model Railroad Planning.

  • Thank you for the kind compliment Adam.

The techniques are nearly all from Mike Danneman so a quick google search on his articles will give you all you need to know. The snow itself is Lightweight Hydrocal with Arizona Rock & Mineral marble dust between the rails (with lost of dilutte gesso to whiten it), both as per Mike.

  • Excellent scenery, the snow scenes are so true to life, and accurate to real life on the line that is now part of the Trans Canada trail system.

  • @roserugosa: thank you very much for your kind words. I have cycled the trails quite a bit and your comment about the accuracy are much appreciated. While not as accurate as I would like, I think that may always be the case...it is a compressed model after all! md

  • Extraordinary. Some of the finest scenery I've seen. I thought it was HO at first. Looking forward to future progress when those stunning bridges are finished!

  • @jdk1928, thank you. Very high praise...your work on Railwire is stunning.

  • Fantastic layout! I love your approach to scenery. Forcing the viewing angles that you want people to see is a trick that is hard to master. Keep up the awesome work! I'll be looking forward to updates.
