playthrough - Boktai: The Sun Is In Your Hand - Pt. 1 "Tutorial stage"

Sooo... I decided to do a recorded playthrough of the first Boktai game.
Why? Boktai is my favorite game series ever and... even if there's other playthroughs up, I still wanna increase awareness of it and have easy access to videos of it for friends that might be interested.

Notes:
-YES this is a ROM, and I have beaten it before... but on a different comp, so I do not have my saves. I'm hoping to get 3 run throughs this time so that I can get the gun del hel pieces, though I will only upload the first run.

-YES I do physically own the game, and have beaten it twice on my cartridge (If I still had my GBA, I'd beat it a third item for the gun del hel... but alas, my GBA is broken and DS screen + sunlight = blind)

-NO I do not have "Real time clock" enabled on VBA. Though I plan on avoiding space bar abuse this run, I often have my saves get corrupted when real time clock is enabled. Thus every time I play it should say its around midnight, which is not my actual time. I will only fix the clock when I get to the delusion forest, as it requires daylight hours.

-YES I do plan on going trough all 3 games, though I have to get a hold of a translated version of 3 again, as the computer I have it on is out of order and it was originally sent to me by a friend I haven't talked to in quite some time.

-I would have done this sooner, but VBA's built in recorder always caused a huge delay in audio. I decided to try a combination of windows movie maker and webcam max. There appears to be no audio delay using this method.

omg how did he get sun on the emulator i try it so many times wth so many patches ands clean roms so plz tel me how

@tiene0365 it's not hard to find pre-patched roms. Optionally, No$GBA has an option setting for the solar sensor without needing a patch but I prefer VBA so I just get patches ones.

I've heard of the tower, but I don't think I've ever done it. *goes to look up how to get into it*

hmm, sounds like you need to use link to get the other emblems. As such, I'm not sure if I'll be able to, since this -is- a rom. If I do manage to get into it, though, I'll be sure to record it! It just likely won't be on this run, so don't expect it pop up anytime soon

Well, for a first run, you don´t need all emblems... despite the fact you can simply use one or two cheats to solve this problem o:

LOL I know even less of the 'secret' stuff in 2, since I have yet to actually -finish- any run of 2. On my cartridge I got stuck on Dainn and couldn't really continue well because sunlight + DS screen = blind and my GBA was broken...

then the last time I did a rom run through I got stuck on the final boss and the computer I was playing it on is broken right now so I can't get to my save...

it seems you need the emblems to -finish- the tower and. I'd rather do a full run of it.

Well... if you really plan on doing a full run, including the knight and the infinity battery, I wish you REALLY good, good luck and strong nerves... that will take really long o:

The Dream Avenue is a Dungeon filled with strong Monsters and X floors, everytime you beat it it will get one more floor... though you sometimes get awesome treaures
