i also have this record and helps me relive my youth. We used to go to the hot club of london in Woolwich when Chris had Lonnie Donegon in his band
Does any one remember this place

@jesper2610 Yes it is Monty Sunshine

The album is LK 4088 and contains a superb (dare I say show-stealing!) set from Alex Welsh and tracks from Ken Colyer and the Lonnie Donegan Skiffle Group. Oh and also the greatest clarinet solo of all time in the Chris Barber version of "Oh Didn't He Ramble!

Fan-bloody-tastic. Just listening to this makes me feel fifty years younger! Thanks for posting!

Times revive again. This was one of his greatest songs. Thanks ever so much!

Top favoriet in the fifties
I have the LP that this is taken from and also the one from the following year when Alex Wesh topped the bill. Great stuff!

@gte2000 Yes, thanks for the comment, I think it's the best ever version. My copy is from the 'Festival' EP No.DFE 6344.
Great days, I was at the concert.

Hi hapeverse, I agree, never been a better version than the 1954 Festival.

Either your cleaning software is better than mine or you have not played this too much. I think this was recorded at the National Jazz Federation Festival of Jazz. I was there I think didn't he ramble was next and last Item that night. Ah memories.

Thanks for that corksand, I was there too.
As the record jacket shows it was at the Royal Festival Hall. It is the genuine EP, well used over the years. My software is Audacity, the record deck having a USB output.
