  • Well said Bob. The other thing is that when a player is concussed they are not in a 'sober' state to make a decision about their ability to play. I am watching this video because I was concussed three weeks ago playing field hockey (head clash). I came off the field and was going to sit out the rest of the game. Normally I would know to do all the things you said, but I was dazed and not able to make decisions very well. My team mates told me to go back on after ten minutes so I did.

  • i am extremely grateful that Mr. McKenzie spoke out on this issue. I am currently suffering with post concussion syndrome from my third concussion in one year. I have daily headaches and a strange sensation of liquid pooling in behind my left ear. I can not rest on the left side of my head without feeling ill and have not exercised in over five months.

  • i think its great that youre going into depth about concussions in sports and how serious an issue it is. ive suffered from 5 concussions myself, and will never be the same as a result, and you do not have to be knocked out cold to have pretty severe consequenses.ive done everything i can to get better but the problems with memory and multi-tasking and slowed information processing is very damaging when trying to hold down a job. i wish you and youre sons the best, and thank you

  • Bob McKenzie is awesome. He's such a fantastic hockey commentator and analyst of the game. Hope his kids are doing well.

  • I just hope that his youngest son gets better

    good luck Mckenzie family
