I'd been watching these installments, in numeric order, sensing something but not able to name it. It wasn't until this episode that I understood. The singer who died in 1999... the face of a much younger Capullo de Jerez... this film was made in another era, in a different Spain, with another kind of gypsy, and by the kind of author who no longer exists in the age of YouTube. It's like the young gypsy informant predicted... since this film was made, flamenco has "gone to the moon"!

Thank you. I haven't been back to Spain in a few years, and it's sad to hear that it's changed for the worse. I'd like to think that this type of authorship though, and the fact that you are able to watch this film without a mainstream distributor, is ONLY possible in the age of youtube.
