Als ich diese Platte gestern zum ersten mal hörte habe ich sie vom Sound her in die späten 20er Jahre eingestuft. Als ich dann rausfand, dass sie von 1923 ist, war ich sehr erstaunt. Vergleicht man diese Aufnahme mit deutschen Titeln der gleichen Zeit, stellt man unweigerlich fest, dass die Engländer uns wohl gute 4 Jahre voraus waren. Das klingt für meine Ohren schon sehr hot für 1923. Viel Spaß mit diesem Fund!

I have not finished with Lily forever but I am delighted to meet Chili Bom-Bom!

Next month this delightful pre-electric recording will be 87 years old. It dates from c.24th April 1924. I 've had my copy a few years but not quite this long!

Another by Walter Donaldson, who really is the forgotten American songwriter. He wrote Mammy, My Baby Just Cares for Me, My Blue Heaven and about a hundred additional standards that really have his imprint on them. Just great, great music.
