Uhhh... there's something wrong here!

Mario thinks he wants to go fly around the castle but the cannon is not opened, so he doesn't know if he should do it triple jump and do the super slide on his side - he doesn't know which one. He wants to do it with the cannon but the cannon is not open. Can anyone help me understand why the cannon is not opening? I have 121 stars but it's still not opening. I appreciate any help you can provide.
