Lydia Nabulumbi is a cupper at Gumutindo coffee co-operative in Uganda. She visited Equal Exchange headquarters, located near Boston, MA, for a weeklong quality training seminar in the fall of 2009. During this visit she stayed with Equal Exchange Quality Control Manager Beth Ann Caspersen and Director of Purchasing Todd Caspersen. Then in March 2010, Beth Ann had the opportunity to visit Lydia in Uganda, during which she filmed this interview:

"When I went to Boston, we had a serious training, serious and fruitful because it changed my life. Since then Willington [General Manager of Gumutindo] has sent emails to Beth Ann and Todd telling them how they've changed my life. And yes, my life has changed, because I saw the way people are working at Equal Exchange. They are friendly, they are free; everyone is focused on their work, they don't waste time ... When I saw people working so hard at Equal Exchange and doing their jobs, doing something [they] love, that made me appreciate my job and love it more, and want to learn more."
