@terega6 Yeah, I think this was an F-14D and one of the F110s had a catastrophic failure that disabled the hydraulics completely so they had no flight controls. This sounds more like something that would happen on a damn TF30, those engines were absolute garbage in Tomcats.

The average person tends to think of an ejection seat as some kind of high speed escalator to the ground..."pull the lever and eveything's going to be fine"-bullshit!! Ejecting from an aircraft at Mach 1 is an extremely dangerous undertaking, only to be used as a last resort. I don't know if the pilot and WSO lived or died-haven't looked at it in depth-but there is so much that can kill you punching out of a jet it STAGGERS THE IMAGINATION. Two parachutes DOES NOT equal 2 live pilots!! Ever.

Hey could have said what you want but both pilots didn't survive, it is written in the crash report...
It was a critical failure in an engine.
