Changing the light bulb in my Fluorescent blacklight Preheat

i hav an energy savin black light bulb in my roof, and i use my room quite alot, there for i use my blck light quite a lot, so i was wondering if u knew how long a energy saving blck light bulb will take to run out? i onlii jst got it, but i wanna know how long it will last, if u know, plz write back . thanx =)

if it is fluorescent it should last about 10,000 hours.

That sucks about the lamp burning out. I had one of the F8T5's burn out in my exit sign a few weeks back, maybe a month ago. It was the top lamp. I came home and I saw it flashing and heard the starter pinging. I admit I like watching preheat lamps at the end of life, still I had to change it anyway. There are new lamps in there now.
