at 2:35 to 2:45 he claims that it is an 8 input 6 output digital mixer whether it is connected to a computer or not. That is not true and is actually sidestepping the unit's biggest deficiency. The fact of the matter is, is that when the unit is not connected to a computer, it is reduced to having just 2 outputs (L/R) and not 6 assignable outs. So what that actually means is that without a laptop, this unit is very handicapped as a standalone mixer. They ought to correct this untrue claim.
I wanted one of these, but then changed my mind when I realised you can only record 1 stereo track onto the SD card. If you hook it up to a PC, then you can record as many tracks as there are inputs. But as a PortaStudio it's quite limited- good for overdubbing only.
UNLESS, they have updated the firmware to allow more than 2-track recording without a PC.
@CapnBooBoo, the V-Studio 100 is more than an audio interface. It is also a DAW controller designed specifically for Cakewalk AND an SD card audio recorder. Same question as alwizard11 - what do YOU use?
